Christmas is only weeks away, and if you’ve got friends and family coming over to spend the holiday with you, then you’ve still got time to give the living room a face-lift.
Most people spend a lot of time inside on Christmas and Boxing Day, so it’s important that you have a nice environment for everyone to sit in. If your sofa has seen better days and has reached the point where the cushions all need plumping every time anyone sits on it, then buying a new settee and chairs in a sofa sale before the arrival of your guests sounds like a good plan.
When choosing a new suite you can be overwhelmed by the choice available. Do you go for patterned or plain fabric? Well, if you’ve already got patterned wallpaper, you’re probably better off choosing a plain fabric for your sofa and chairs. You don’t want the possibility of a pattern clash or near miss.
Also taste changes and what you might love in the shop and for the first few weeks, you may take a sudden dislike to in the New Year. You may decide to change the wallpaper or repaint the living room as well as get new furniture. If so, you’ll be less restricted to colour and pattern choices for the sofa. Make sure you leave enough time to decorate and get everything finished before Christmas – you won’t want to welcome people to your home with it smelling of paint!
There is a huge array of shapes to choose from too. Depending on how many people are in your family, you may want two three-seater sofas, but you may prefer a sofa and two armchairs. Having a corner sofa doesn’t suit very living room’s shape and dimensions, but they can be perfect for cosy family movie nights.
With so many good deals on interest free payment plans, budgeting for new furniture so close to Christmas needn’t be a problem, but do make sure you keep up with the payments.
